The prompt
Help me write a case for support for my nonprofit's campaign.
Campaign: [e.g. capital campaign for a new clinic, endowment, 3-year program expansion, general operating]
Goal and timeline: [AMOUNT, dates]
Problem we address: [the need, with data sources]
Our approach and why it works: [program model, evidence, track record]
What the money will do: [budget breakdown by use]
Proof: [outcomes, evaluations, testimonials, partners]
Readers: [major donors, foundations, board, community]
Structure:
1. The need: urgent, specific, sourced.
2. Our response: why we are positioned to solve it.
3. The vision: what is different when the campaign succeeds.
4. The plan and budget: how the money is used, including overhead honestly.
5. Evidence of impact.
6. Why now, and why this donor.
7. Giving opportunities: gift levels or a gift range chart (often a lead gift of about 10-20% of goal), and naming opportunities if any.
8. The ask.
Return:
- A full case (1,200-1,800 words).
- A one-page summary version.
- A list of every claim that needs a source, marked [SOURCE NEEDED].
Do not invent statistics, research findings, or beneficiary quotes. Avoid deficit language that strips people of dignity; describe the people we serve as people with goals, not problems.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
