How does the prompt generator work?

The generator assembles your answers into the structure used by the prompts in our library. The role tells the AI whose expertise to use. The context gives it the background only you know, such as your audience, goal and limits. The task is the one job you want done, and the format and tone describe what the answer should look like. If you choose RCTFVV, it adds two closing steps that ask the AI to check its answer against your requirements and list any assumptions you should confirm. Anything you leave empty becomes a highlighted [BLANK], so the prompt still works as a reusable template.

Example: what the generator produces

Act as an experienced account manager. Context: We sent a proposal on 2 October to a mid-sized logistics firm and have had no reply. Keep it friendly; don’t offer a discount. Task: Write a follow-up email to a client who hasn’t replied to our proposal. Format: A short email with a subject line. Tone: friendly and warm.

Frequently asked questions

Is this prompt generator free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no usage limit. It runs entirely in your browser: what you type is assembled into a prompt on your device and is not sent to ThinkWithPrompt or to an AI service until you choose to open it in one.

Which AI tools can I use the generated prompt with?

Any text AI assistant, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot and DeepSeek. Use the buttons to open it directly in ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity, or copy it into any other tool.

Which framework should I choose?

Choose RTF for quick everyday tasks, RCTF when the answer depends on your audience or situation, and RCTFVV for work others will rely on, because it adds self-checks. Read RTF vs RCTF vs RCTFVV for the details.

Is there a ready-made prompt for my task?

Probably. The library has 2,663 ready-to-use prompts across 28 topics. Search the library or browse topics and prompts by role.
