Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data ThinkWithPrompt collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and the choices you have. It is written to align with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and reflects widely recognised privacy practice.

1. Who we are
ThinkWithPrompt (thinkwithprompt.com) is a product of Synottic™, a brand of Mindaks Global Private Limited, a company registered in India. Mindaks Global Private Limited is the Data Fiduciary (data controller) for the personal data described here. Contact: info@synottic.com.
2. The short version
- You can search, read and copy prompts without an account and without giving us any personal data.
- We measure how the library is used with our own analytics, which do not store your IP address, browser details or a device fingerprint.
- We would also like to use Google Analytics to understand which pages help. It sets cookies and sends data to Google, so it is off unless you click “Accept analytics”. Saying no, or sending a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, changes nothing about how the site works. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
- We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your data.
- If you create an account, we’ll also email you occasionally about Synottic AI programmes and new free resources, as noted on the sign-in screen (“emails from Synottic about free courses, new prompts and course offers”) and set out in our Terms of Use. Every such email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and ThinkWithPrompt stays free if you unsubscribe.
- If you create an account, you can delete it and the data tied to it at any time from your account settings.
3. Data we collect
When you browse without an account
- A random visitor ID, generated by your browser and kept in its local storage, so we can understand usage over time without knowing who you are.
- Usage events linked to that ID, such as which prompts are viewed, copied or opened in an AI tool, and which AI tool was chosen.
- Page performance measurements, such as how long a page took to load and respond, with the type of page. These are numbers only, used to keep the site fast.
- Search queries you type into the library, with the number of results. Before a query is stored we remove things that look like email addresses, phone or ID numbers and web links.
- Preferences kept only on your device: your theme and, if you are not signed in, the prompts you save and your My Context details.
When you create an account or sign in
- Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time link or code and to send service emails.
- Your name and profile picture, only if you choose to sign in with a third-party account (such as Google, Microsoft or GitHub) where we offer it, and only as that provider shares them with us.
- Your saved prompts and the prompts you create with our AI features and choose to save.
- Your answer to one optional question about the kind of work you do (for example “Marketing or content”), used to point you to relevant prompts and, if you opt in, to make our emails relevant.
- My Context, if you fill it in: short details such as your role, industry, a description of your organisation, location, audience and preferred tone. It is private to you and is added only to prompts you copy; it is not sent to analytics.
- Session data needed to keep you signed in. If you used the library before signing in, the usage events from your visitor ID are linked to your account.
When you use AI features
Features such as creating or personalising a prompt send the text you enter to a third-party AI model provider (see section 6) to generate the result. We do not keep the text of these requests in our logs. We record technical details only: which feature was used, the model, whether it succeeded, how long it took, token counts and cost. Please do not enter sensitive personal data, confidential business information or anything you are not permitted to share.
When you connect another app or use the browser extension
You can connect ThinkWithPrompt to other apps: our browser extension, AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, and developer tools. Connecting is always your choice. A connect screen on thinkwithprompt.com shows which app is asking and what it will be able to do, and nothing is shared until you choose Allow.
- What a connected app can reach: only what you allowed. That can be your My Prompts and folders, your My Context, saving prompts to My Prompts, and (for the browser extension) our AI features within your monthly allowance. A connected app cannot see your email preferences, programme enquiries or sign-in methods, and cannot change or delete your account.
- What we store about a connection: the app’s name and the address we send you back to, which permissions you allowed, when you connected and when the app last used the connection, and one-way hashes of its access keys. We never store the keys themselves.
- Your conversations stay in the app you use. When an AI assistant uses ThinkWithPrompt, we receive only the request it makes (for example a search, or a prompt you asked it to save) and never the rest of your conversation. We do not keep the text of these requests in our logs; our analytics record only which tool was used, by which kind of app (for example “Claude”), and whether you were signed in.
- The browser extension reads a web page only when you act: when you choose a prompt to insert, it writes into the chat box on the page you are using; when you right-click selected text, it reads that selection. It does not read or send your browsing history or the pages you visit. It keeps its sign-in key, your recent prompts and its settings in your browser’s extension storage.
- Disconnecting: open My account → Connected apps and choose Disconnect. The app’s access stops straight away. Deleting your account removes all connections.
The apps you connect are run by other companies (for example Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) under their own terms and privacy policies, which govern what they do with your conversations and with the prompts they receive from ThinkWithPrompt.
When you ask about Synottic programmes for your team
We collect your email address and, if you provide them, your name, organisation, role, team size and what you would like help with, so the Synottic AI Institute can reply to your request. Asking about a programme does not sign you up for marketing email.
Emails about Synottic programmes and resources
The sign-in screen tells you, before you continue, that an account includes emails from Synottic about free courses, new prompts and course offers, and our Terms of Use describe them: emails about Synottic AI programmes and new free resources. When you create an account we record that consent: when, how (the sign-up notice) and the exact wording shown. You can also opt in without an account, for example when you ask about a programme, by ticking a box. If you unsubscribe, we keep a note of that, so signing up again or using the site never re-subscribes you without asking.
Google Analytics, only if you accept
If you click “Accept analytics”, we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, provided by Google. They set cookies on your device and send Google information about your visit: the pages you view, when, how you arrived, approximate location, device and browser details, and your IP address as part of the connection, together with a random identifier stored in the cookies. We use the resulting reports to see which pages and prompts are useful and to improve the site. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising: advertising storage, personalised advertising and Google signals are turned off, and we do not use Tag Manager to load advertising or remarketing tags. We will update this policy before that changes. Google handles this data under its own Privacy Policy.
None of this happens unless you accept. If you do not answer, nothing is loaded. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a “no” and do not ask. Your answer is remembered on your device for about a year, after which we ask again.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for payment details, government identifiers or precise location, and our own analytics do not record IP addresses or user agents. Our hosting provider processes standard technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the website and protect it from abuse; where we rate-limit requests we store only one-way hashed keys, never raw emails or IP addresses.
4. Why we use your data
- To provide the service: search, saved prompts, accounts and AI features.
- To sign you in and send service emails: sign-in links and codes, a welcome email (which also explains who makes ThinkWithPrompt and why it is free), confirmations of account changes and replies to requests you make.
- To reply to your enquiry if you ask about Synottic programmes for your team.
- To send occasional emails about Synottic AI programmes and new free resources to account holders (as told at sign-up) and to people who opted in, until they unsubscribe.
- To understand and improve the library, for example which prompts are useful and which searches find nothing.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give by creating an account, using an AI feature or sending us an enquiry, and for legitimate uses permitted by law, such as keeping the service secure. Emails about Synottic programmes and resources rely on the consent you give by creating an account after reading the sign-up notice, or by ticking an opt-in box. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any such email or in My account, without losing your account, and ThinkWithPrompt stays free either way.
5. Cookies and local storage
Always: a strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in. We also use your browser’s local storage for the random visitor ID, your theme, your answer to the analytics question below, and the prompts and My Context details saved on the device. These do not need your consent.
Only if you accept analytics: Google Analytics cookies, which are set by Google’s scripts on our domain and begin with _ga (for example _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier). They hold a random identifier so repeat visits can be counted, and last up to about two years. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your choice: choose “Accept analytics” or “No thanks” in the notice that appears on your first visit. To change your mind, use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Google’s scripts and delete the Google Analytics cookies we can reach, but data Google already received stays with Google under its policy until it is deleted by the retention period in section 8. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
6. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run ThinkWithPrompt, under their terms and only for that purpose:
- Hosting and infrastructure: our website hosting provider and managed database provider.
- Email delivery: an email provider that sends sign-in, service and programme emails.
- AI model providers: depending on configuration, a model we run on servers we control, or Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, which process the text you submit to AI features.
- Sign-in providers: if you choose to sign in with one, such as Google, Microsoft or GitHub.
- Analytics: Google, through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics (section 3).
- Apps you connect: only the data you allowed on the connect screen, sent only when the app asks for it (section 3).
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the public. We do not sell or rent personal data.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google if you accept analytics, process data outside India, for example in the United States. Where they do, we rely on their contractual commitments and security practices and transfer data only as permitted under the DPDP Act and other applicable law.
8. How long we keep data
- Account data, saved and created prompts: until you delete them or your account.
- Usage events, search queries and AI request records: deleted automatically after about 13 months (395 days).
- Programme enquiries: for up to two years after your last enquiry, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Marketing consent records: while you are subscribed and, after you unsubscribe, a minimal record that you did, so we never email you again without asking.
- Google Analytics data, if you accepted: kept in our Google Analytics account for no more than 14 months and then deleted automatically.
- Your analytics choice: kept on your device for about a year, or until you clear your browser storage.
- Connected apps: until you disconnect the app or delete your account. A connection that has not been used for 30 days stops working and is deleted.
- Rate-limit records: one day.
When you delete your account, your profile, My Context, sessions, connected apps, saved prompts, created prompts and email subscription are deleted, and remaining usage records are no longer linked to you.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct or update inaccurate data;
- erase your data: delete your account at any time from My account, or ask us to;
- withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing that already took place: for analytics, use “Cookie settings” in the footer; for emails, use the unsubscribe link;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity;
- raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (section 12) and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@synottic.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
ThinkWithPrompt is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or send us an enquiry. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS with HSTS), access controls that limit staff access, hashed rate-limit keys, a deliberately minimal analytics design and no loading of Google scripts without your consent. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of a personal data breach as required by law.
12. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023:
Name: Amit Kumar Soni
Designation: Founder & CEO, Mindaks Global Private Limited
Email: info@synottic.com
Response time: within 30 days of receiving a complaint.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, tell signed-in users by email or on the site.
