Make the case to product for fixing a recurring customer issue
A voice-of-customer brief that turns ticket evidence into a prioritized, persuasive request for the product team.
The prompt
Help me write a voice-of-customer brief that persuades the product team to fix a recurring issue.
The issue: [WHAT CUSTOMERS RUN INTO]
Ticket evidence: [NUMBER of tickets, time period, trend, tags]
Support cost: [average handle time, agent hours per month, reopen rate]
Customer impact: [what they can't do, workarounds they use, CSAT on these tickets]
Revenue signals: [churn mentions, affected accounts, deals at risk - only if known]
Representative quotes: [3-5 CUSTOMER QUOTES, personal data removed]
What we've already tried in support: [MACROS, ARTICLES, WORKAROUNDS]
Write a one-page brief:
1. The headline: the problem and its cost in one sentence.
2. The problem from the customer's point of view.
3. Evidence: volume, trend, support hours, customer impact, revenue signals. Use only numbers I gave you.
4. Quotes that show the pain.
5. What support can't solve on its own and why.
6. A suggested fix or the questions product should explore (keep it humble; product decides the solution).
7. The ask: what I want and by when.
Also give me a 3-sentence version for a Slack message and the two objections product is likely to raise, with how to answer them. Mark missing data as [ADD DATA].
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
