Write my talking points for an upcoming meeting
Gives you a short, ordered set of talking points with key messages, supporting facts, and answers to likely pushback.
The prompt
Write talking points I can use in an upcoming meeting.
Meeting and audience: [e.g. "budget review with my director and finance partner"]
What I want them to think, feel, or do by the end: [MY OUTCOME]
My main points (rough is fine): [BULLETS]
Facts and numbers I can use: [PASTE]
Time I will have to speak: [e.g. "5 minutes", "a few comments in a 1-hour meeting"]
Pushback I expect: [CONCERNS OR "not sure"]
Requirements:
- Open with my main message in one sentence, then 3-5 supporting points in order of importance.
- Each point: a short headline I can say out loud, then 1-2 supporting facts from what I gave you.
- Write in natural spoken language, not slide language. Short sentences.
- Use only my facts and numbers. Where a point needs evidence I have not given, mark it [ADD EVIDENCE].
Return:
1. Key message (one sentence I could say if I only get 30 seconds).
2. Talking points in order, each with supporting facts.
3. Responses to likely pushback: objection, then a calm 1-2 sentence answer.
4. A clear ask or close for the end of my slot.
5. What not to say: phrases or topics that could derail the discussion.
6. A version on a single index card (under 60 words) to glance at during the meeting.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.
