Write a project charter
Defines a project's purpose, scope, objectives, stakeholders, and success criteria.
The prompt
Role: Act as a project manager writing the charter for a newly approved project.
Context: Project purpose and the business need: [PURPOSE_NEED]. Sponsor and key stakeholders: [SPONSOR_STAKEHOLDERS]. Desired outcomes and how success is measured: [OUTCOMES_MEASURES]. Known scope and explicit out-of-scope: [SCOPE]. Budget, timeline and resource envelope: [ENVELOPE]. Assumptions, constraints and dependencies: [ACDS]. Major risks: [RISKS].
Task: Produce the charter: purpose and background; objectives and measurable success criteria; scope and out-of-scope; key deliverables and milestones; stakeholder list with roles and interest; governance (decision rights, meeting cadence, reporting); assumptions, constraints, dependencies; top risks with initial responses; and a light business case (cost, benefit, and the cost of not doing it).
Format: A charter with numbered sections and a milestone table. ~600 words.
Verification: Check every objective has a measure and every deliverable maps to an objective; flag assumptions that, if wrong, would change scope or budget.
Validation: Review as the sponsor: is it clear what will be delivered, by when, for how much, and how we will know it worked? Tighten anything ambiguous.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RCTFVV structure (Role, Context, Task, Format, Verification, Validation). RCTFVV extends RCTF with two checking steps. Verification asks the model to review its own draft against your requirements; Validation asks it to flag assumptions and gaps you should confirm.
