Turn a meeting transcript into a one-page executive brief
Condenses a long meeting or transcript into a short brief or update a busy executive can read in two minutes.
The prompt
Turn this meeting into a short executive brief or update for a senior reader who was not there.
Who will read it: [e.g. "my VP", "the CFO", "the steering committee"]
What they care about: [e.g. "budget impact and risks", "customer impact", "timeline"]
Format I need: [one-page brief / 5-line email update / Teams or Slack message]
Transcript or notes: [PASTE]
How to write it:
- Lead with the bottom line: what was decided or what changed, in one or two sentences.
- Then only what an executive needs: decisions, impact (money, time, customers, risk), what is needed from them, and what happens next.
- Cut process detail, who-said-what, and background they already know.
- Use plain numbers from the transcript only. If a figure is mentioned loosely ("around half"), keep it loose. Never invent or round up figures; mark gaps as [CONFIRM].
- If the meeting reached no decision, say so plainly instead of making it sound conclusive.
Return:
1. Subject line / headline (under 12 words).
2. Bottom line (1-2 sentences).
3. Key decisions (max 3 bullets).
4. Impact and risks (max 3 bullets).
5. What I need from you (an explicit ask with a date, or "No action needed").
6. Next steps (owner and date).
7. A 3-sentence version for a chat message.
Total length: under 250 words for the main brief.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
