Run a role intake meeting with a hiring manager
An intake agenda and question set that turns a vague hiring request into a clear, agreed search plan.
The prompt
Help me prepare and run an intake meeting with a hiring manager for a new open role.
Role title and team: [ROLE, TEAM, LEVEL]
What I know so far: [the req, an old job description, or the manager's email]
Hiring manager: [WHO - e.g. "first-time manager", "senior leader who has hired for this role before"]
Constraints: [salary band, location / remote policy, target start date, headcount]
Meeting length: [e.g. 30 minutes]
Give me:
1. A timed agenda for the meeting.
2. The questions to ask, grouped by: why the role exists now, the first 6-12 months of outcomes, must-have vs. nice-to-have skills, deal-breakers, ideal backgrounds and target companies, interview process and panel, decision-maker and feedback turnaround, and selling points for candidates.
3. Follow-up probes for vague answers (e.g. when the manager says "a rockstar" or "5+ years required"): ask what that person would actually do and how we would know in an interview.
4. Red flags to raise in the meeting: requirements that shrink the pool without predicting performance, a salary band out of line with the market, or an unclear decision-maker.
5. A one-page intake summary template I fill in afterward and send to the manager for sign-off: success profile, must-haves (max 5), interview stages and owners, service levels (e.g. feedback within 48 hours), and the target timeline.
Keep must-haves tied to the job's actual work, and flag any requirement that could unfairly screen out protected groups.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
