List the decisions blocking my project and who needs to make them
Builds a decision log of what is stuck, who owns each decision, the deadline, and the cost of waiting.
The prompt
Find the decisions holding up my project and set them up to get made.
Project context: [GOAL, key milestones, teams involved]
Status notes, meeting notes, emails: [PASTE - look for anything waiting on approval, choice, or sign-off]
Known open questions: [LIST, if any]
Governance: [who approves what - sponsor, steering committee, functional heads]
Steps:
1. Pull out every decision that is pending, explicit or implied ("waiting on legal", "need to agree the vendor").
2. For each, name the single accountable decision-maker. If it needs several teams to agree, list who must be consulted and flag it as cross-functional.
3. Work out the latest date it can be made without delaying the plan, and what each week of delay costs.
4. Note the information the decision-maker needs and whether it exists yet.
5. Group them: decide now, decide this month, can wait.
Return:
1. Decision log: # | Decision needed | Options on the table | Decision owner | Consulted | Latest decision date | Cost of delay | Info still missing | Status.
2. The 3 most urgent decisions, each written as a one-paragraph decision request ready to send.
3. Decisions that need cross-functional alignment, with a suggested forum (steering meeting, working session, email approval).
4. Decisions that seem to have no owner, so I can raise them.
Don't invent who has authority. If unclear, mark [CONFIRM OWNER].
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
