The prompt

Create OKRs from these strategic priorities. Strategic priorities: [PASTE the company or department priorities] My team and its scope: [WHAT WE OWN and influence] Period: [quarter or year] Current baselines: [METRICS and numbers we have today] Capacity: [team size, big commitments already planned] Rules for good OKRs: - 3-5 objectives at most. Each objective is qualitative, inspiring, and says why it matters. - 2-4 key results per objective. Each key result is a measurable outcome with a baseline and target ("reduce onboarding time from 21 to 10 days"), not a task ("launch new onboarding flow"). - Key results should be ambitious but credible; mark which are committed and which are stretch. - Initiatives (the work we'll do) are listed separately under each objective. Steps: 1. Map each priority to what my team can actually influence. Drop or flag priorities outside our scope. 2. Draft objectives and key results. 3. Test each key result: Is it measurable with data we have? Could it be hit without achieving the objective? Does it conflict with another team's goals? 4. Check total ambition against our capacity and say if we have too many. Return: 1. The OKR set: Objective | Key result | Baseline | Target | Committed or stretch | Owner | Initiatives. 2. How each objective links to the strategic priorities. 3. Weak spots: key results that are really tasks, unmeasurable, or likely to be gamed, with fixes. 4. A suggested check-in rhythm and a simple 0-1.0 scoring guide. Use [BASELINE NEEDED] where I haven't given a number. Don't invent baselines or targets without saying how you got them.

Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
