Turn my new team's feedback into themes and early priorities
Sorts notes from your first one-on-ones into themes, quick wins, people signals, and open questions, with a shareable summary.
The prompt
Help me make sense of what I heard in my first one-on-ones with the team I've taken over. This is step 2 of the 'Take over an existing team' pack; paste your notes from the step 1 conversations.
Notes from each conversation: [PASTE - use initials or labels, not full names]
What my boss expects from me: [EXPECTATIONS]
Team metrics or results I can see: [DATA, if any]
Step 1 output (optional): [PASTE]
Work through:
1. Recurring themes, with how many people raised each and representative points in paraphrase. Separate facts from opinions.
2. Contradictions: where people see the same thing differently, and what I'd need to find out.
3. Problems sorted into: quick wins I can fix in 30 days, important but needs time, and outside my control (escalate or explain).
4. Team strengths to protect while I make changes.
5. People signals: who seems at risk of leaving, overloaded, or ready for more responsibility. Treat these as hypotheses to test, not judgments.
6. Questions I still can't answer, and who could help.
Return two versions: a one-page summary I could share with the team (themes and planned actions, nothing attributed to individuals), and a private version with my working notes. Don't add themes that aren't in the notes.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
