The prompt

Help me research a company before my interview and turn it into a one-page briefing. This is step 1 of my interview prep; the briefing can feed into my story bank and the questions I'll ask. Company: [NAME] Role and team: [TITLE, team or department] Job description: [PASTE] Interviewers, if known: [NAMES AND TITLES] Material I've gathered: [PASTE from their website, recent news, annual report, product pages, interviewer LinkedIn profiles, employee reviews] Use only the material I provide plus clearly labeled general knowledge. If something isn't in my sources, mark it [VERIFY] rather than stating it as fact - companies change quickly and wrong facts hurt in interviews. Return a briefing with: 1. What the company does, who it sells to, and how it makes money - in 3 sentences. 2. Current priorities and challenges (growth, cost-cutting, new products, regulation), with the source for each. 3. Why this role likely exists now and what success in the first year probably looks like. 4. Each interviewer: their likely focus and one thing to connect on. 5. 3 ways my background fits their current situation. 6. Red flags or open questions worth probing (turnover, reorganizations, unclear scope). 7. Smart phrases to use: their product names, their terms for customers, their stated values.

Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
