The prompt

Help me prepare for a parent-teacher conference about a student who is struggling. Student's grade: [GRADE] Concern: [academic, behavior, attendance, social; be specific] Evidence: [e.g. grades, work samples, assessment scores, behavior log with dates] What I've already tried: [STRATEGIES and results] Student strengths: [AT LEAST 2] Family context I know: [e.g. language spoken at home, past contact, work schedule] Others attending: [e.g. counselor, interpreter, student] Time slot: [MINUTES] Build: 1. A short agenda that starts with strengths and asks the family what they see at home before I share concerns. 2. Opening words that set a partnership tone. 3. How to present the concern with 2-3 specific pieces of evidence, not labels. 4. Questions to ask the family (routines, what works at home, the student's view). 5. 2-3 next steps split into school actions, home actions, and student actions, with a check-in date. 6. How to respond if the family gets upset, disagrees, or asks about special education evaluation. Explain that a written request for evaluation must be passed on and that I should not discourage it. 7. A follow-up note I can send afterward summarizing what we agreed. Keep language free of education jargon. If an interpreter is needed, keep sentences short and plan extra time.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
