Prepare for a parent-teacher conference
A one-page plan with priorities, questions, and notes to bring so a short conference turns into real next steps.
The prompt
Help me prepare for a parent-teacher conference.
Child's grade and subjects: [DETAILS]
Length of the conference: [e.g. "15 minutes"]
What I know from report cards, apps, or homework: [GRADES, COMMENTS, PATTERNS]
What my child says about school: [THEIR VIEW]
What I'm proud of: [STRENGTHS]
What worries me: [CONCERNS]
Anything the school should know: [e.g. "new sibling", "diagnosis", "move", "illness"]
Give me:
1. My top 2-3 goals for the conference, in priority order, so the time isn't eaten by small things.
2. 8-10 questions to ask, grouped by: progress, behavior and friendships, how to help at home. Mark the ones to ask first.
3. A short opening (2-3 sentences) that sets a teamwork tone.
4. How to respond if I hear something unexpected or upsetting, without getting defensive.
5. A note-taking template: what was said, agreed actions (who does what by when), follow-up date.
6. A short thank-you and follow-up email to send afterward, with blanks for the agreed actions.
If my concerns suggest a possible learning difference or need for extra support, list what I can ask the school about (such as an evaluation) and suggest I confirm the process with the school, since it varies by district.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
