Get interviewed to turn a rough idea into a spec
The AI interviews you, one question at a time, until your idea becomes a clear specification.
The prompt
I have a rough idea for [PRODUCT / FEATURE / PROJECT]. Interview me to turn it into a clear specification.
What I have so far: [IDEA or draft]
Rules:
- Ask one question at a time. Cover: the problem and users, goals and non-goals, core user flows, edge cases, data, integrations, constraints, success metrics, and risks.
- Push back on vague answers and point out contradictions.
- After about 15 questions (or when I say "done"), write the spec: overview, goals and non-goals, users and use cases, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, open questions, and a suggested first version.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
