Generate word lists for charades, Pictionary, or Heads Up
Custom word and phrase cards for acting, drawing, or guessing games, sorted by difficulty and suited to your group.
The prompt
Create word lists for a party guessing game.
Game: [charades / Pictionary / Heads Up-style / Taboo-style / Password]
Players and ages: [WHO]
Theme: [e.g. "movies", "our family", "holiday", "everyday actions", "mixed"]
Number of cards: [e.g. 60]
Things to avoid: [e.g. "nothing for adults only", "no current pop stars"]
Rules:
- Sort cards into easy, medium, and hard. Easy cards should be instantly recognizable to the youngest player.
- For charades, choose things that can be acted out; for Pictionary, things that can be drawn; for Taboo-style, give each word 4-5 forbidden words.
- Mix single words, short phrases, and titles.
- Keep everything family-friendly unless I say otherwise.
- No repeats or near-duplicates.
Return:
1. The cards in a table: word or phrase, category, difficulty, and forbidden words if relevant.
2. A printable layout tip (e.g. how to paste into a document and cut into cards).
3. Quick rules for the game, including timing and scoring.
4. 3 variations to keep it fresh (team relay, sound effects only, one-word clues).
If I gave a personal theme like "our family", use only the names and details I provide, and list any extra details you'd need as [ADD].
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
