The prompt

Create a murder mystery dinner party for me to host. Number of guests: [NUMBER, and whether it can flex by 1-2] Setting or theme: [e.g. "1920s jazz club", "ski lodge", "surprise me"] Tone: [silly and light / classic and clever / spooky] Guests: [any who want small roles, who love acting, who are shy, or ages if kids are playing] Time available: [e.g. "3 hours including dinner"] Content limits: [e.g. "nothing gory", "family friendly"] Include: 1. The story: victim, setting, and what really happened (host only). 2. A character sheet for each guest: name, short bio, costume idea, a secret, who they suspect, and what they must reveal in each round. Give shy guests roles with less talking. 3. Three rounds of play tied to dinner courses, with the clues released each round. 4. A clue list with clear instructions on when and how each clue appears (a note under a plate, a read-aloud letter). 5. A fair solution: the killer must be deducible from the clues, with at least two red herrings that can be ruled out. 6. The final accusation and a reveal script for me to read. 7. Optional extras: invitation wording, a short prep checklist, and award ideas (best costume, best detective). Check that no clue contradicts another and that every guest has something to do in every round.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
