The prompt

Write a portfolio case study for one of my projects. Project: [NAME AND ONE-LINE SUMMARY] Target role: [ROLE I'M APPLYING FOR] Context and problem: [WHO IT WAS FOR, WHAT WAS WRONG OR NEEDED] My role and the team: [WHAT I DID PERSONALLY vs. what others did] Constraints: [TIME, BUDGET, DATA, TOOLS, STAKEHOLDERS] Process and key decisions: [WHAT I TRIED, WHAT I CHOSE, AND WHY] Results: [REAL OUTCOMES - numbers, feedback, what shipped] Visuals I have: [SCREENSHOTS, CHARTS, DRAFTS, PHOTOS] Project type: [paid / academic / self-initiated / volunteer] Structure: 1. Headline that states the outcome. 2. TL;DR: 3 lines covering problem, my role, result. 3. The problem and why it mattered. 4. My role, stated precisely; credit teammates. 5. Approach: 2-3 key decisions, the options I considered, the trade-offs, and why I chose what I did. 6. Outcome with evidence. 7. What I learned and what I'd do differently. Rules: - 400-700 words, short sections, written for a reader who skims first. - Use only facts I've given. Where a metric would help but I haven't provided one, insert [ADD METRIC] rather than inventing it. - If the work is under NDA, anonymize names and sensitive numbers and say so. - Suggest where each visual goes, with a one-line caption. - Label the project type honestly. This is step 3 of the "Build a portfolio that gets you hired" pack. It works on its own, and can use the project selection from step 1 or the new project from step 2.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
