Turn sales handoff notes into a customer onboarding brief
Converts messy deal notes into a clear brief so customer success starts onboarding knowing what was promised and why the customer bought.
The prompt
Turn these sales handoff notes into an onboarding brief for customer success.
Handoff notes, call notes, or CRM export: [PASTE]
Contract details: [PRODUCTS/PLAN, SEATS, TERM, PRICE, SPECIAL TERMS]
Anything the sales rep told me verbally: [DETAILS]
Extract and organize:
1. Why they bought: the business problem, trigger event, and what they compared us against.
2. What success means to them: stated goals and any numbers mentioned.
3. People: economic buyer, champion, day-to-day contact, technical owner, likely skeptics - with what each cares about.
4. Promises made: every commitment from the sales process (features, timelines, integrations, discounts, custom work). Flag anything that sounds non-standard or that the product may not support.
5. Technical setup needs: integrations, data migration, SSO, security requirements.
6. Risks: red flags such as a rushed timeline, an absent exec sponsor, a champion leaving, unrealistic expectations, or a competitor still in play.
7. Gaps: what's missing from the handoff that I must ask the rep or the customer before kickoff.
8. First 3 actions for me this week.
Rules: do not fill gaps with assumptions. Quote or paraphrase only what's in the notes, and label anything unclear as [UNCLEAR - ASK REP]. Keep it to one page.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
