Reflect on my year and plan the next one
A structured annual review of wins, lessons, and priorities for next year.
The prompt
Guide me through a year-end review.
The year: [YEAR]
Areas of my life to cover: [e.g. work, health, relationships, money, learning, fun]
Raw notes on what happened (optional): [PASTE calendar highlights, journal notes, goals I set]
Ask me questions one area at a time (2–3 questions per area). After I answer all areas, produce:
1. Highlights — my biggest wins and proudest moments.
2. Lessons — what worked, what didn't, and patterns across areas.
3. Unfinished business — what I'm carrying forward and what I'm letting go.
4. Next year — 3 themes and up to 5 goals, each with a first step and a way to track it.
5. A one-sentence intention for the year.
Keep it honest and specific — no generic motivational language.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
