Plan a holiday or seasonal sale with the right offer and timeline
A seasonal campaign plan with an offer that protects margin, a phased timeline, and channel roles.
The prompt
Plan a seasonal sales campaign for my business. This is step 1 of a 5-step seasonal campaign pack; later steps (offer messaging and sale page, email and SMS countdown, social and ads, post-sale recap) build on this plan.
Business and what I sell: [DETAILS - price range, bestsellers]
Season or moment: [e.g. Black Friday/Cyber Monday, back to school, Mother's Day, end of season]
Campaign dates available: [DATES]
Gross margin on key products: [% - or "unsure"]
Last year's results for this period: [OPTIONAL]
Channels: [email list size, SMS list size, social, ads budget, in-store]
Stock or capacity limits: [DETAILS]
Goal: [e.g. revenue target, clear old stock, acquire new customers]
Work through:
1. Offer options (3): e.g. percentage off, tiered spend-and-save, gift with purchase, bundles, early access for subscribers. For each, show the margin impact using my numbers and who it attracts (bargain hunters vs. loyal customers). Recommend one.
2. Phases: teaser, early access, main sale, last chance, and extension (only if planned and honest).
3. Channel roles: what email, SMS, social, ads, and the website each do in each phase.
4. Operations check: stock, shipping cutoffs, support coverage, site load, discount code testing.
5. Timeline table: Date | Phase | Action | Channel | Owner.
Rules: Show the math for margin impact and mark assumptions [CONFIRM]. Advertised "was" prices must be genuine past selling prices; check local pricing and promotion rules.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.
