Pitch a project client on an ongoing retainer
A retainer offer and pitch that turns a finished project into recurring work, with clear monthly scope and value.
The prompt
Help me pitch a retainer to a client whose project is ending or recently finished.
Project I delivered: [WHAT, and the results so far]
What the client still needs: [ongoing work, gaps I noticed, upcoming plans]
Signals of interest: [anything they've said about continuing]
My capacity for ongoing work: [hours or days per month]
Pricing idea: [MONTHLY FEE, or "help me structure it"]
Give me:
1. Two or three retainer structures that fit (e.g. fixed monthly deliverables, a block of hours, advisory access, performance-linked), with pros and cons for both of us.
2. A recommended retainer: monthly scope, what's included and excluded, response times, how unused hours are handled, minimum term, and notice period.
3. The value case in the client's terms: what happens to the results if nobody keeps working on this.
4. A short pitch email and the talking points for a call.
5. Answers to likely objections: "we'll handle it in-house", "let's see how it goes", "can we do it ad hoc?"
6. A simple monthly report outline that will show the retainer is worth renewing.
Use only results I've shared; mark gaps with [ADD RESULT]. Don't set prices for me; use [ADD FEE] if I haven't given one.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
