Hand over my work before moving to a new team
A structured handover plan and document so your old team keeps running smoothly after you move.
The prompt
Help me plan the handover of my current work before I move to a new team. This is step 4 of my internal move plan; use the transition timeline agreed with my manager in step 2.
My responsibilities: [LIST projects, recurring tasks, systems I own, stakeholders, clients]
Who's taking over: [NAMES or "not decided yet"]
Transition dates: [last day on current team, start on new team, any overlap]
Knowledge that lives only in my head: [e.g. workarounds, history with a difficult client, access setups]
Give me:
1. A handover table: Responsibility | Status | Owner going forward | Key contacts | Documentation needed | Handover date.
2. A template for a handover document per project: goal, current status, next steps, decisions pending, risks, where files live, who to ask.
3. A schedule of handover sessions with the new owners, ordered by risk.
4. A message to stakeholders and clients introducing the new contact.
5. Boundaries for after the move: how long I'll answer questions and through what channel, so I don't end up doing two jobs.
Flag anything that involves access rights or sensitive data so it's transferred through the proper process.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
