The prompt

Help me write my weekly forecast submission and explain the movement since last week. Period and target: [e.g. Q3, quota $2.4M] Last week's call: [commit / best case / closed-won to date] This week's call: [commit / best case / closed-won to date] Deal changes: [paste a list or CRM export: deals added, pulled in, pushed out, won, lost, amount changes, category changes] Known risks or upside not yet in the numbers: [DETAILS] Who reads this: [e.g. my VP before Monday's forecast call] Steps: 1. Build a forecast bridge (waterfall) from last week's commit to this week's: closed-won, new to commit, upgraded from best case, downgraded, pushed out of period, lost, amount changes. The totals must reconcile; if they don't, flag the gap instead of forcing it. 2. Call out the 3-5 deals that drive most of the movement and the reason for each. 3. Separate facts (buyer actions) from judgment (my read). Return: - A 3-sentence summary: number, change, confidence. - The bridge as a table: Movement | Deals | Amount. - Top deals moved, one line each. - Risks and upside not in the call, each with an amount. - What I need from leadership (exec help, deal desk, resources), if anything. Use only numbers I provide. Mark anything missing as [CONFIRM].

Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
