Build my annual sales plan
A one-year sales plan linking the revenue target to segments, motions, headcount, enablement, and quarterly milestones.
The prompt
Help me build our sales plan for next year.
Revenue target: [AMOUNT, and split between new business, expansion, renewal if known]
This year's results: [bookings, win rate, deal size, cycle, by segment or region]
Company priorities: [e.g. new product, move upmarket, enter a region, improve retention]
Current team and budget: [headcount by role, budget envelope]
Customers and markets: [segments, ICP, installed base]
Biggest lessons from this year: [what worked, what didn't]
Build the plan:
1. Target breakdown: where the number comes from by segment, motion (new, expansion, partner), and quarter, with seasonality. Show the math.
2. Growth levers: for each, the assumption and the revenue it contributes (e.g. +3 points of win rate, new region, price change).
3. Go-to-market coverage: which teams cover which segments, and changes to territory or account assignments.
4. Capacity and hiring: headcount needed and timing (high level).
5. Enablement and process: the 3 skill or process improvements that matter most.
6. Marketing and partner dependencies: pipeline we need from each.
7. Metrics and cadence: what we'll track monthly and quarterly.
8. Risks and contingencies: what we do if H1 is behind.
