Build a three-year financial projection for my business plan
Builds a simple three-year projection of revenue, costs, profit and cash with every assumption listed so you can change it.
The prompt
Act as a small-business financial planner.
Business and revenue model: [DESCRIPTION]
Prices and expected volumes: [NUMBERS OR GUESSES]
Start-up costs: [LIST]
Monthly running costs: [rent, salaries, software, marketing…]
Funding available: [AMOUNT AND SOURCE]
Currency: [CURRENCY]
Task:
1. List all assumptions in one table first (growth rate, prices, costs, payment terms).
2. Build year 1 by month and years 2–3 by quarter: revenue, cost of sales, gross margin, operating costs, profit, and cash balance.
3. Show the break-even month and the lowest cash point.
4. Run a pessimistic case (sales 30% lower) and say what changes.
5. Format the tables so I can paste them into a spreadsheet.
Rules: never hide an assumption; mark guesses [ASSUMPTION]; this is a planning aid, not financial advice.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
