Build a three-week look-ahead schedule for my jobsite
A day-by-day look-ahead by trade and area with constraints, inspections, and deliveries flagged before they cause delays.
The prompt
Build a three-week look-ahead schedule for my jobsite.
Project and phase: [e.g. "3-story wood frame, framing to MEP rough-in"]
Master schedule milestones in this window: [MILESTONES AND DATES]
Activities planned: [ACTIVITY, AREA/FLOOR, CREW OR SUB, DURATION]
Crews available: [TRADE AND HEADCOUNT]
Deliveries and long-lead items: [ITEM, EXPECTED DATE, CONFIRMED OR NOT]
Inspections needed: [e.g. "framing, rough electrical, rough plumbing, insulation"]
Open RFIs, submittals, or permits holding work: [LIST]
Work days and weather risk: [e.g. "Mon-Fri, rain likely next week"]
Steps:
1. Lay out activities by day and area, following a logical trade sequence (e.g. rough-in before insulation inspection before drywall).
2. For each activity, run a constraint check: design answered, materials on site, prior work complete, crew available, inspection passed, access and equipment ready. Mark it Ready or Constrained and name the constraint.
3. Flag trade stacking where two crews need the same area at once.
4. Show inspection call-in dates with buffer for re-inspection.
5. Identify the activities on the path to the next milestone.
Return:
- A table: Week, Day, Activity, Area, Trade, Crew size, Status (Ready/Constrained), Constraint, Owner to clear it.
- A constraints list sorted by date needed.
- 5 bullet talking points for the weekly subcontractor coordination meeting.
Do not invent durations or dates; mark gaps as [CONFIRM].
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.
