Build a master career profile from my LinkedIn data export
Converts your LinkedIn export into a consistent, reusable Markdown career profile for resumes, cover letters, and AI prompts.
The prompt
Turn my LinkedIn data export into a clean, structured master career profile I can reuse for resumes, cover letters, and AI prompts.
My LinkedIn export: [PASTE the contents of the Profile, Positions, Education, Skills, Certifications, Projects, Languages, and Recommendations files. You can request the export in LinkedIn's settings under data privacy; it can take up to a day to arrive]
Extra details not on LinkedIn: [achievements with numbers, tools, side projects, awards]
Target roles: [TITLES, optional]
Rules:
- Use only what's in my files or what I add. Don't invent dates, titles, metrics, or skills; mark gaps [ADD].
- Format dates consistently as YYYY-MM (or YYYY if that's all there is). Show current roles as "Present".
- If text appears in several languages, use English where available.
- Keep the same section order and headings every time so the profile is reliable to reuse.
- Leave out contact details unless I ask for them.
Output in Markdown with these sections:
1. Summary: headline and a 3-4 sentence professional summary.
2. Experience: for each role - company, title, dates, location, and 3-6 bullets. Rewrite duties as results where my data supports it.
3. Education
4. Certifications and licenses
5. Skills: grouped into technical, domain, tools, and languages.
6. Projects, publications, and volunteering: if present.
7. Recommendations: the main theme of each, in one line.
8. Gaps to fill: a checklist of missing metrics, dates, or details that would strengthen the profile.
Then tell me which 3 achievements are strongest for my target roles and why.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
