The prompt

Help me write the final report for a consulting engagement. Client and the question they hired me to answer: [DETAILS] What I did: [methods, interviews, data analyzed, timeframe] Key findings: [BULLETS with supporting evidence] Recommendations: [LIST] Client constraints: [budget, capacity, timing, politics] Readers: [who will read it, and who will act on it] Structure the report: 1. Executive summary (one page max): the answer, the three to five most important findings, and the top recommendations with expected impact. 2. Background and approach: brief, so readers trust the method. 3. Findings: each with a clear headline, the evidence, and the implication for the client. 4. Recommendations table: recommendation | rationale (link to findings) | expected benefit | effort | cost range | owner | priority. 5. Implementation roadmap: quick wins (0-30 days), medium term (1-6 months), and longer term, with dependencies and decision points. 6. Risks and how to manage them. 7. How to measure success: metrics with baselines and targets where known. 8. Appendix list: data sources, interviewee roles, detailed analysis. Rules: every recommendation must trace back to a finding. Don't invent figures, benefits, or cost estimates. Use [ADD ...] markers. Plain language, no consulting jargon.

Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
