Set marketing OKRs tied to pipeline and revenue
Quarterly marketing objectives and measurable key results that connect team work to business outcomes.
The prompt
Help me set quarterly OKRs for my marketing team.
Company goals this year: [e.g. revenue target, new market, retention]
Marketing's role in hitting them: [e.g. "60% of pipeline", "brand launch"]
Last quarter's results: [KEY METRICS]
Team and responsibilities: [WHO does what - demand gen, content, product marketing, brand]
Big initiatives already planned: [LIST]
Rules:
1. 3-4 objectives max, written as qualitative outcomes.
2. 2-4 key results each, measurable, with baseline and target. Mix lagging outcomes (pipeline, revenue, CAC) with leading indicators the team controls weekly (conversion rates, qualified meetings, activation).
3. No activities as key results ("launch a webinar" is a project, not a result). List initiatives separately under each objective.
4. Flag vanity metrics (impressions, followers, raw leads) and replace them unless tied to an objective that warrants them.
5. Include at least one shared key result with sales or product where hand-offs matter.
6. Set ambition: label each as committed or stretch.
Return:
- A table: Objective | Key result | Baseline | Target | Owner | Committed/Stretch.
- Initiatives mapped to each objective.
- What we are explicitly not doing this quarter.
- A weekly check-in format (confidence score 1-10 per key result).
Use [BASELINE?] where I haven't given a number.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.
