Run an emerging risk scan for my risk committee
Identifies and assesses emerging risks relevant to my organization, with signals to watch and suggested actions for the committee.
The prompt
Help me prepare an emerging risk scan for my risk committee.
Organization: [industry, size, geographies, business model]
Current top risks on our register: [LIST]
Strategic plans for the next 2-3 years: [e.g. new markets, AI adoption, acquisitions]
Sources or developments I have already noticed: [PASTE notes, articles, regulatory consultations]
Time horizon: [e.g. 1-3 years]
Do this:
1. List 8-12 candidate emerging risks across regulatory, technology, geopolitical, economic, climate and environmental, societal, and operational themes, relevant to my organization.
2. For each: a one-paragraph description, how it could affect us specifically, the transmission path (how it would reach us), early warning signals to watch, velocity (how fast it could hit), and a rough relevance rating (High/Medium/Low) with reasoning.
3. Flag which overlap with risks already on our register and which are genuinely new.
4. Recommend the top 3-5 for deeper analysis, with a suggested owner role and the next step (monitor, scenario analysis, deep dive, add to register).
5. A one-page summary table for the committee pack.
Rules: base specifics on the information I provided. If you refer to any external development, regulation, or statistic, flag it [VERIFY SOURCE] because it may be out of date - do not invent citations or figures. Distinguish clearly between established facts and plausible scenarios.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
