The prompt

Rewrite a reading passage at different levels so all my students can access the same content. Original text: [PASTE IT - only content I'm allowed to adapt for classroom use] Grade level of my class: [GRADE] Levels needed: [e.g. "2nd-3rd grade, 5th grade, 7th grade" or Lexile ranges] Content and vocabulary that must stay: [KEY CONCEPTS AND TERMS] Purpose: [e.g. "background for a science lab", "shared discussion tomorrow"] For each level: 1. Rewrite the passage, keeping every key concept and fact. Do not add new facts or change meaning. 2. Adjust sentence length, syntax, and vocabulary to the level, but keep the key terms and define them in context or in a short glossary. 3. Keep the same headings and structure so students can discuss across levels. 4. Write 3 comprehension questions at that level: one literal, one inferential, and one connecting to the purpose. Then add: - A shared discussion question every level can answer. - A note on which details were simplified, so I can check accuracy. Readability estimates are approximate; tell me to check with my school's leveling tool if exact levels matter. Return each version under a clear heading with an approximate word count.

How this prompt is built
