Teach me a work topic using examples from my own role
Explains a topic at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels using situations from your job, with a quick check at each level.
The prompt
Teach me a topic using examples from my actual job.
Topic: [e.g. "discounted cash flow", "API rate limits", "change management"]
My role and what I work on: [DETAILS - e.g. "procurement manager negotiating software contracts"]
What I already know: [NOTHING / SOME BASICS / USED IT A BIT]
Why I need it now: [e.g. "a meeting next week", "new project"]
Time I have: [e.g. 15 minutes]
Teach it in three levels, each built on examples from my role:
1. Beginner - what it is and why it matters to my work, one plain analogy, one example from my day-to-day.
2. Intermediate - how it actually works, the key terms I will hear, and a worked example using a realistic situation from my job.
3. Advanced - edge cases, trade-offs, common mistakes experienced people still make, and how experts reason about it.
After each level, ask me one question to check understanding and wait for my answer before moving on. If my answer shows a gap, re-explain that part a different way.
Finish with:
- A one-paragraph summary I could repeat in a meeting.
- 5 terms with plain definitions.
- 3 questions I could ask a colleague who knows this well.
- One small way to use this at work this week.
If the topic depends on my company's specific rules, numbers, or systems, say so and tell me what to confirm internally rather than guessing.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
