Respond when my child is being bullied
A step-by-step plan to support your child, document what's happening, and work with the school to stop bullying.
The prompt
Help me respond to my child being bullied.
Child's age and grade: [DETAILS]
What's happening: [what, who (no full names needed), where, how often, since when]
Type: [physical / verbal / exclusion / online]
How my child is coping: [sleep, mood, not wanting to go to school, injuries]
What's been done so far: [talked to teacher, nothing yet]
Give me:
1. How to talk with my child: what to say first, what to avoid ("just ignore it", promising secrecy I can't keep), and questions to understand the full picture.
2. A documentation template: Date | What happened | Where | Witnesses | Evidence (screenshots) | Who I told.
3. Confidence and safety strategies my child can use, suited to their age, without telling them to fight back.
4. A short, factual message to the teacher or principal requesting a meeting, and what to ask for in that meeting (a safety plan, follow-up date).
5. What to do if the school doesn't act: escalation steps, marked [CHECK SCHOOL/DISTRICT POLICY].
6. Ways to rebuild my child's confidence and friendships outside school.
Advise against contacting the other child or their parents directly in anger. If there are threats, assault, or sexual content, tell me to contact the police. If my child talks about self-harm or not wanting to live, tell me to seek help immediately through emergency services or a crisis line.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
