The prompt

Help me add active learning to one of my lectures. Course and topic: [e.g. "intro chemistry, acid-base equilibria"] Class size and room: [e.g. "220 students, tiered lecture hall, fixed seats"] Session length: [MINUTES] Learning outcomes for this session: [LIST] Current lecture outline or slides: [PASTE OUTLINE] Tools available: [polling app, LMS, whiteboards, TAs in the room] Redesign the session: 1. Split the content into segments of 10-15 minutes, each tied to an outcome. 2. Between segments, insert an activity that fits a large fixed-seat room, such as think-pair-share, peer instruction with a concept question, a minute paper, a worked-example completion, or a prediction before a demo. For each, give the exact prompt, timing, and how I'll bring the room back. 3. Write 2 concept questions for peer instruction with distractors based on common misconceptions. 4. Cut or move content to pre-class reading if the time doesn't fit, and tell me what you moved. 5. Add a plan for low participation in the first activity (how to set norms and keep it low-stakes). Return a minute-by-minute run sheet: Time | Segment or activity | What I do | What students do | Outcome. Keep at least 30% of the session for student activity.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
