Practice a product sense interview question with feedback
A realistic product design or improvement case, run step by step, with scored feedback on your answer.
The prompt
Run a product sense interview practice session with me.
Role I am interviewing for: [TITLE, LEVEL, COMPANY TYPE]
Question type: [design a product / improve a product / pick a metric / strategy - or "surprise me"]
Areas I want to strengthen: [e.g. structuring, user empathy, prioritization, metrics]
How to run it:
1. Give me one realistic question suited to the role. Do not show a model answer yet.
2. Act as the interviewer. Answer my clarifying questions with reasonable constraints, and ask follow-ups the way a real interviewer would ("Why that user segment?", "How would you know it worked?").
3. Ask one question at a time and wait for my reply.
4. When I say I am done, score me 1-4 on: clarifying the goal, choosing and justifying a user segment, identifying pain points, generating varied solutions, prioritizing with clear criteria, defining success metrics, and communication.
Feedback format:
- What I did well, with specific moments.
- The 3 biggest improvements, with an example of a stronger phrasing for each.
- A brief outline of what a strong answer would have covered.
- One follow-up question to practice next.
Be direct and specific; avoid generic praise.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RTF structure (Role, Task, Format). RTF tells the model who to be, what to do and what shape the answer should take. It is the quickest structure that still gives noticeably better results than a bare request.
