Make my home safer to prevent falls
A room-by-room fall-prevention checklist with low-cost fixes and a plan for what to do if you fall.
The prompt
Help me make my home safer so I'm less likely to fall.
Who lives here: [e.g. "me, 78, live alone", "my mother, 84, uses a cane"]
Home layout: [e.g. "two-story house, bedroom upstairs", "apartment with a step into the shower"]
Mobility or vision concerns: [DETAILS]
Past falls or near-misses: [WHEN, WHERE, WHAT HAPPENED]
Budget and help available: [e.g. "small budget, my son can do simple installs"]
Give me:
1. A room-by-room checklist (entry, stairs, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, outdoor paths) covering lighting, clutter, rugs, cords, grab bars, rails, and reaching high shelves.
2. Fixes sorted into free, under $50, and bigger projects - with which ones to do first based on my past falls.
3. Night-time safety: lighting the path to the bathroom, getting out of bed safely.
4. A "what to do if I fall" plan: how to check myself before getting up, how to get up safely, and how to call for help if I can't (phone in reach, medical alert options to research).
5. Questions to ask my doctor at my next visit (medication side effects that affect balance, vision and hearing checks, whether a physical therapist could help).
If someone has fallen and hit their head, can't get up, or is in severe pain, call emergency services.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
