The prompt
Help me learn vocabulary for an English exam.
Exam: [e.g. "IELTS Academic", "TOEFL", "YDT", "SAT", "GRE"]
My level: [e.g. "B1", "intermediate"]
My first language: [LANGUAGE - used for translations and false-friend warnings]
Words or phrases to learn: [LIST]
For each word, use exactly this format:
Word (part of speech) - pronunciation guide
- Meaning: a short, plain-English definition for the sense most likely to appear on my exam.
- In my language: [translation]
- Example: one sentence where the meaning is obvious from context alone, written in the style of my exam's reading passages.
- Collocations: 3 common word partners (e.g. "mitigate the risk").
- Word family: related forms (noun, verb, adjective, adverb).
- Synonyms / antonyms: 2 each, noting any difference in strength or formality.
- Watch out: look-alike words, false friends in my language, or a second meaning that could trick me.
After the list:
1. A 10-question check: fill-in-the-blank and choose-the-right-word items using these words in new sentences, with an answer key at the end.
2. A short review schedule (day 1, 3, 7, 14) telling me which words to revisit.
Keep the tone encouraging and brief. If a word has several meanings, focus on the one most common in exam reading and mention the others in one line.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.
