Group students for intervention from screening and assessment data
Sorts students into MTSS or RTI tiers and intervention groups from universal screening and diagnostic results.
The prompt
Help me group students for intervention using our assessment data.
Grade and subject: [e.g. "2nd grade reading"]
Screener and cut scores: [e.g. "DIBELS 8, benchmark / below / well below"]
Data I have: [PASTE or DESCRIBE - student IDs, screener scores, diagnostic skill results, prior tier, attendance]
Intervention staff and time available: [e.g. "2 interventionists, 30 min/day, groups of up to 5"]
Programs we use: [e.g. "phonics program A, fluency program B"]
Steps:
1. Place each student in Tier 1, 2, or 3 using the screener cut scores; flag students near a cut score for a second data point.
2. Within Tier 2 and 3, group by the skill gap from the diagnostic (e.g. phonemic awareness vs. decoding vs. fluency vs. comprehension), not by overall score.
3. Fit groups to the staff and time I have; tell me what does not fit and the trade-off.
4. Flag students whose data suggests something other than a skill gap (attendance, English learner status, possible referral for evaluation).
5. Set a progress-monitoring probe and frequency for each group, plus the decision rule for moving tiers (e.g. 4 points below the aimline).
Return a grouping table (Group | Students | Skill focus | Program | Staff | Minutes | Monitoring), then a list of students needing follow-up. Use student IDs only, never names. Do not guess missing scores.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
