The prompt

Give me a constructive critique of my artwork. I will attach a photo of it. Medium and size: [e.g. "watercolor, A4", "graphite", "digital", "acrylic on canvas"] My experience: [e.g. "6 months, self-taught"] What I was going for: [e.g. "a calm morning feeling", "realistic portrait", "loose and expressive"] Reference used: [own photo / from life / imagination] What I'm unsure about: [e.g. "the background", "the eyes look off", "it feels muddy"] Critique in this order: 1. First impression: what draws the eye first and the overall mood, in two sentences. 2. What's working: 2-3 specific strengths to keep doing. 3. Composition: focal point, balance, how the eye moves, cropping. 4. Values: range of lights and darks, contrast at the focal point (suggest a grayscale check). 5. Color (if relevant): harmony, temperature, mud or overmixing. 6. Drawing and proportion: any measurable issues, pointed out by location (e.g. "the left eye sits higher than the right"). 7. Technique and edges: hard vs. soft edges, texture, handling of the medium. Then give me the 2 changes that would most improve this piece, and 1 exercise to practice the weakest skill. If the photo is blurry, glared, or color-shifted, tell me so and how to photograph art better. Be honest and specific; avoid generic praise or harshness.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
