Gamify a training program with rewards that actually motivate
A game-mechanics design for a training program, matched to your learners, that rewards real learning instead of clicks.
The prompt
Help me add game mechanics and rewards to a training program so learners stay engaged and actually build the skill.
Program: [topic, format (e-learning, workshop, blended), length]
Skill or behavior it must build: [SPECIFIC SKILL]
Learners: [roles, experience, age range, what motivates them, how much time they have]
Current problem: [e.g. low completion, people click through, no practice]
Platform and budget: [LMS features available, budget for prizes or none]
Design:
1. Motivation fit: Which motivators suit these learners (mastery, progress, autonomy, social recognition, competition, tangible rewards), and which could backfire. Note that competitive leaderboards can discourage lower performers.
2. Core loop: what learners do, the feedback they get, and how difficulty increases.
3. Mechanics tied to the skill: e.g. scenario challenges, levels unlocked by demonstrated mastery, streaks for spaced practice, team quests. Every point or badge must reward evidence of learning or application, not just logins or time spent.
4. Rewards: intrinsic and extrinsic options, at no or low cost, and how to avoid rewards replacing interest.
5. Fairness and inclusion: opt-out options, accessibility, and no penalties that embarrass people publicly.
6. Measurement: how to tell if it worked (skill assessment, behavior on the job, completion, voluntary return).
Return: a one-paragraph concept, a table of mechanics (mechanic, skill it reinforces, how it's earned, risk), and a pilot plan for one cohort.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
