Design a sales tracker spreadsheet for my team
A tracker that separates new and existing business, shows each rep's weekly and monthly results by product, and charts the trend.
The prompt
Help me design a sales tracker spreadsheet for my team.
Tool: [Excel / Google Sheets]
What we sell: [products or product categories - e.g. "bonds, unit trusts, and insurance products", "software plans"]
Sale types to separate: [e.g. new accounts vs. top-ups or upsells on existing accounts, renewals]
Team: [number of reps, any teams or regions]
Targets: [weekly / monthly / quarterly, per rep or per product]
Pipeline stages we use: [e.g. Lead, Contacted, Proposal, Closed won, Closed lost]
What managers want to see: [e.g. "who's behind target by mid-month", "which product is growing"]
Design:
1. Data entry tab: one row per deal with columns for date, rep, client, client type (new/existing), product, sale type, amount, pipeline stage, expected close date, source, and notes. Define each column and use dropdowns for consistency.
2. Client tab: clients classified by status (closed, in progress, dormant), with last contact and next action.
3. Rep performance tab: weekly and monthly totals vs. target per rep, split by new vs. existing business and by product. Give the exact formulas (e.g. SUMIFS) for my tool.
4. Charts: a line chart of each rep's monthly trend and a stacked bar of sales by product, with setup instructions.
5. Pipeline view: value by stage and weighted forecast, with the weighting I should confirm.
6. Rules to keep data clean: who enters what, by when, and how to handle corrections.
Keep it simple enough that reps will update it daily.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
