Design a low-distraction workday with an attention budget
Builds a daily template for your role that spends your best attention on the highest-value work and contains reactive tasks.
The prompt
Help me design a workday that spends my attention on purpose.
My role and what I'm judged on: [TITLE + 2-3 KEY OUTCOMES]
A typical day now: [DESCRIBE OR PASTE CALENDAR - meetings, email, deep work, admin]
My energy pattern: [when I'm sharp, when I fade]
Reactive demands I can't avoid: [e.g. support queue, approvals, client calls]
Main distractions: [e.g. Slack, open-plan noise, phone, constant small asks]
Treat my attention as a budget: I have a limited number of high-focus hours (assume 3-4 unless I say otherwise), a larger pool of medium-focus time, and low-energy time.
Return:
1. Attention budget: how many hours of high, medium, and low focus I have, and what each should be spent on, with my highest-value work in high-focus hours.
2. Daily template: a time-blocked day showing focus blocks, communication windows, meetings, admin batches, and breaks.
3. Reactive-work container: where incoming requests go and when I handle them, so they don't leak into focus time.
4. Environment and tool rules: 5-7 specific rules (e.g. "Slack closed during focus blocks", "phone in another room until 11").
5. Overspend signals: signs I've spent my budget badly that day, and the reset I'll use.
6. A version for heavy-meeting days.
Make it fit my real constraints. Where my job requires being reachable, design around that instead of ignoring it.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
