Create a quiz or test with answer key
Assessment items at the right difficulty, mapped to learning objectives, with answers and explanations.
The prompt
Role: Act as an instructional designer and assessment writer.
Context: Learning objectives: [OBJECTIVES]. Content covered: [CONTENT]. Audience and level: [AUDIENCE]. Item formats allowed: [FORMATS]. Number of items and coverage weighting: [BLUEPRINT]. Stakes (formative / certification): [STAKES].
Task: Produce an assessment blueprint (objective x number of items x cognitive level), then the items: for each, the stem, options (with plausible distractors based on real misconceptions), the key, a one-line rationale for the key and for why each distractor is wrong, and the objective it assesses. Aim for application-level items, not just recall.
Format: Sections: Blueprint (table) | Items (numbered, each with stem/options/key/rationale/objective).
Verification: Flag items that are ambiguous, have grammatical give-aways, test recall of trivia, or do not map to an objective. Ensure exactly one defensible key each.
Validation: Answer a sample of items as a knowledgeable learner and as a guessing one: do the strong learners pass and can the items be gamed? Fix any that can.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the RCTFVV structure (Role, Context, Task, Format, Verification, Validation). RCTFVV extends RCTF with two checking steps. Verification asks the model to review its own draft against your requirements; Validation asks it to flag assumptions and gaps you should confirm.
