The prompt

Help me adapt my screenplay into a novel. Screenplay: [PASTE the script, or a scene-by-scene outline plus key scenes] Genre and target readers: [e.g. "YA thriller", "literary fiction"] Point of view I'm considering: [first person / close third / multiple POVs / not sure] Target length: [e.g. "80,000 words"] What I want the novel to add: [e.g. "more of the antagonist's backstory", "the lead's inner life"] Work through: 1. Point of view and voice: recommend a POV and tense, with the trade-offs for this story. 2. Structure: map acts and sequences to chapters. Show where to slow down, add scenes, merge scenes, or cut things that only work visually. 3. Interiority: where to add thoughts, memories, and motives the camera can't show, without stalling the pace. 4. Description and setting: turning scene headings and action lines into sensory prose that does more than describe. 5. Dialogue: keeping what's sharp, adding tags, beats, and subtext, and cutting lines that worked only because an actor carried them. 6. Subplots and secondary characters that have room to grow in prose. Return: - A chapter outline table: Chapter | Screenplay scenes covered | POV | Purpose | New material. - A list of the 5 biggest adaptation decisions with my options. - One key scene rewritten as prose (about 800-1,000 words) so I can hear the voice. Keep my story, characters, and dialogue as the foundation; flag any change you suggest rather than making it silently.

How this prompt is built

This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
