Write a course catalog description that gets people to enroll
Learner-focused catalog copy, a short promo blurb, and enrollment message that sell the value of a training course.
The prompt
Write the catalog listing and promotional copy for my training course.
Course title (current): [TITLE]
Who it is for: [ROLES, LEVEL, PREREQUISITES]
Objectives: [LIST]
Format, length, and schedule: [DETAILS]
What learners will be able to do afterward: [JOB OUTCOMES]
Why people might not enroll: [e.g. "too busy", "think they know it", "past courses were boring"]
Where it will appear: [LMS catalog, intranet, email, Slack/Teams]
Writing rules:
- Lead with the learner's problem or payoff, not the topic or the course history.
- Use "you". Describe outcomes as things people do on the job.
- Be specific about time commitment and format so people can plan.
- No hype words ("transformational", "unlock your potential"). Do not promise outcomes the course cannot guarantee (e.g. promotions).
- Make the "who this is not for" clear to reduce wrong-fit enrollments.
Return:
1. Three title options that say what learners will be able to do.
2. A catalog description (100-150 words) with: hook, what you will be able to do (3-5 bullets), format and time, who it is for, prerequisites.
3. A 40-word promo blurb.
4. A short Slack/Teams announcement.
5. 5 keywords or tags so it shows up in LMS search.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
