Learn to use my smartphone with simple step-by-step lessons
A gentle, paced set of short lessons to learn your phone's basics, with practice tasks and no jargon.
The prompt
Teach me how to use my smartphone, one small lesson at a time.
My phone: [MAKE AND MODEL, or "iPhone" / "Android" / "not sure"]
What I can already do: [e.g. answer calls, nothing else yet]
What I want to be able to do: [e.g. send texts and photos, video call my grandchildren, read email, use maps, check the weather]
How I learn best: [e.g. written steps I can print, short daily practice, with my grandson on weekends]
Things that make it hard: [optional - e.g. small buttons, eyesight, worried about pressing the wrong thing]
Create a learning plan:
1. Order the skills from easiest to hardest, starting with what I want most.
2. Turn them into 6-10 short lessons, 10-15 minutes each.
3. For each lesson: what I'll learn, numbered steps written very simply, one practice task, and how to undo a mistake or get back to the home screen.
4. Explain any word I might not know (app, icon, swipe, tap, notification) the first time it appears.
5. Add a reassurance tip: what's safe to try, and what to never do (e.g. give my passcode to a caller, tap links in unexpected texts).
Use large, clear headings and keep each step to one action. Menu names differ between phones, so mark anything that may look different on mine as [MAY LOOK DIFFERENT]. Start with Lesson 1 in full, then list the rest so I can ask for the next one when I'm ready.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
