Decide which decisions in my role should always stay mine, not AI's
Sorts the decisions you make into ones you own, ones AI can prepare, and ones AI can handle, with a personal rule set.
The prompt
Help me decide which of the decisions in my job should stay mine as AI takes on more of my work.
My role and level: [DETAILS]
Decisions I make regularly: [LIST - e.g. "approve vendor invoices", "rate my team's performance", "recommend pricing", "choose which client issues to escalate"]
Where AI already helps me or soon could: [LIST]
Who is affected by my decisions: [customers, employees, finances, safety, the public]
Rules or policies that apply: [e.g. approval limits, regulations, company AI policy - or "not sure"]
Sort every decision into one of three groups:
- Mine alone - AI may inform it, but I decide and can explain why.
- AI prepares, I decide - AI gathers facts and drafts options; I review and sign off.
- AI handles within limits - routine, reversible, low-impact, with a check I define.
Judge each one on: impact on people, reversibility, who is accountable if it goes wrong, how much it depends on context, values, or relationships that AI cannot see, legal or policy requirements, and how quickly an error would be noticed.
Return:
1. A table: Decision | Group | Main reason | Check or sign-off required | What would move it to a different group.
2. Decisions I am currently handing off too easily, and decisions I am holding onto that AI could safely prepare.
3. A short personal rule set (5-7 lines) I can keep at my desk.
4. How to explain these lines to my manager or team in two or three sentences.
Decisions about people (hiring, performance, pay, discipline), and anything legal, financial, or safety-related should default to human-owned. Check company policy and local law before automating any of them. Do not assume what my policies allow; mark gaps as [CONFIRM].
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
