Check that learning outcomes, assessments, and standards line up
Audit a course or program mapping table for gaps, errors, and weak alignment, with suggested fixes and a corrected map.
The prompt
Review how my course or program maps learning outcomes to assessments, skills, and standards.
Course or program: [NAME, level, credits]
Learning outcomes: [PASTE numbered list]
Assessments and activities: [PASTE list with weightings]
Mapping table: [PASTE the table that links outcomes to skills, assessments, and standards]
Standards or frameworks: [e.g. a national qualifications framework, subject benchmark, professional body standards - paste the relevant statements]
Purpose: [e.g. program validation, accreditation review, course redesign]
Check and report:
1. Errors in the table: wrong codes, outcomes mapped to standards they don't match, duplicate or missing rows.
2. Coverage gaps: outcomes not assessed, standards not covered, skills claimed but never practiced.
3. Over-assessment: outcomes tested repeatedly while others are thin.
4. Level fit: whether outcome verbs and assessment tasks match the level of study (e.g. "describe" vs. "evaluate"), using a framework such as Bloom's taxonomy.
5. Constructive alignment: whether each assessment actually lets students demonstrate the outcome it claims.
6. Accessibility and inclusion: assessment variety and any barriers for students with disabilities or different backgrounds.
Return:
- A findings table: row or outcome, issue, why it matters, suggested fix.
- A corrected mapping table.
- Suggested rewrites for weak outcome statements.
Work only from the standards I paste. If a standard isn't provided, mark the mapping [CANNOT VERIFY] rather than assuming its wording.
Highlighted [brackets] are blanks to replace with your own details.

How this prompt is built
This prompt follows the Few-Shot structure (Few-shot prompting). A few-shot prompt includes one or more worked examples of the input and the output you want, so the model can copy the pattern instead of guessing it.
