The prompt

Build me a learning plan to close the skill gaps for my career switch. This is step 2 of my career-switch plan; it can use what I learned in informational interviews (step 1). Target role: [ROLE] Skill gaps to close: [LIST, most important first] What insiders said matters most: [e.g. "a portfolio beats a certificate"] Time available per week: [HOURS] Budget for learning: [AMOUNT, or "free resources only"] Target date to start applying: [DATE] How I learn best: [courses, books, building things, a cohort with deadlines] Requirements: - Prioritize the skills employers screen on; skip nice-to-haves. - For each skill, suggest types of resources (e.g. "an intro statistics course with exercises") rather than inventing specific course names or prices. If you name a well-known resource, tell me to confirm it's current. - Only recommend a paid certificate or degree if it's genuinely expected in the field, and say so plainly. - Design 1-2 portfolio projects that mirror real work in the target role and that I can show in interviews. Return: 1. A week-by-week plan in a table: Week | Skill | Activity | Output. 2. The portfolio project brief(s): problem, deliverable, how to present it. 3. Ways to get real-world practice now (volunteering, a side project at my current job, freelance). 4. A checkpoint every 4 weeks to decide whether to adjust the plan.

How this prompt is built
